THE CATAMOUNT ARTS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Mary Parent

Mary Parent joined the Catamount Arts Board of Directors in 2011.  She is an attorney with Downs Rachlin Martin PLLC and practices in Vermont and New Hampshire in the fields of corporate and commercial law, as well as estate planning.  She attended Boston College Law School and pursued her undergraduate studies at Smith College.

Mary and her family were excited to discover Catamount Arts when they moved to St. Johnsbury in 2005.  A native Vermonter, Mary grew up in southern Vermont.  Immediately prior to her move to St. Johnsbury, she lived in Boston, where she took advantage of the various museums and frequented the Coolidge Corner Theater, a movie theater showing films similar to those of Catamount.  While initially hesitant about her move to St. Johnsbury, she was happy to find out about Catamount and that moving north did not mean leaving the art and film world behind. 

She is eager to serve on the board, and have a creative outlet that is so different from her day to day work.  She is fascinated by art and art history, a focus of her studies at Smith, and is energized by participating in an organization that is committed to making art accessible to the region. 

Mary lives in St. Johnsbury with her husband and two young sons.  When she can find some spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading, cross country skiing, painting, drawing and collecting art made by Vermont artists.
